Supplier preferencing calculator
The Kraljic matrix scores how you see a supplier. This one flips the table — score how much value you represent and how attractive a customer you are, and see how they likely see you.

This is a self-assessment, so be as objective as you can — the value in it comes from spotting a mismatch, like being a high-value customer that’s still hard to deal with, which is exactly the kind of thing worth fixing before your next contract renewal.
Frequently asked questions
What is the supplier preferencing model?
The mirror image of the Kraljic matrix, viewed from the supplier’s side. Instead of scoring a supplier, you score how valuable and attractive you are as a customer.
What are the four quadrants?
Core (high value, high attractiveness) gets priority. Development (high value, low attractiveness) has upside if the relationship improves. Exploitable (low value, high attractiveness) is easy but low priority. Nuisance (low value, low attractiveness) gets the least attention.
Why does it matter how a supplier sees me?
It tells you how much negotiating leverage, priority allocation and service quality you can realistically expect, and what to change to get more of it.
Is this calculator free to use?
Yes. It runs entirely in your browser, needs no account, and nothing you enter is stored or transmitted.
