How does this calculator decide my quadrant?
You score a set of weighted sub-factors for profit impact and for supply risk. Each axis averages into a composite score, and the midpoint of each axis splits the matrix into non-critical, leverage, bottleneck and strategic.
What’s the difference between a leverage item and a strategic item?
A leverage item is high impact but low risk — negotiate hard and run competitive tenders. A strategic item is high impact and high risk — it needs a long-term partnership approach instead.
